Sonny was born June 14, 1930, in Corpus Christi to parents Edwin Daniel and Minnie Anna Imhoff. He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17. While serving his country, he sustained a career ending and lifelong suffering hip injury.
After returning to Texas, he entered the construction field and worked for more than 20 years as a drywall contractor. When the pain from the injured hip forced him to stop the drywall business, he returned to school and learned to work on electronics. He worked for A-1 Audio Visual as a salesman/technician until his retirement.
Sonny enjoyed life and spending time with friends, especially the close knit "family" at their lake place on Greenbelt Lake in Clarendon. Even through the constant pain of his debilitating hip injury, a successful battle against bladder cancer and finally a stroke that left him bedridden, Sonny never lost his sense of humor, the gleam in his eye or the smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 40 years, Frankie Ann Snowden Imhoff.
