David Alan Robinson, 84, passed away on August 20, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. David was born on April 19, 1940, in Las Animas, Colorado, to John (Jack) L. Robinson and Evelyn Janet Robinson. He married Beverly Robinson on August 16, 1977.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Evelyn Robinson, a grandson, Christopher Cox, a granddaughter, Chambrey Cox, a sister, Lynne Kinniston, a sister-in-law, Mitzi Robinson, brother-in-law, Ron Kinniston, and a Godson, Trey Cole.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly, his son, Clayton Cox (Gwen) and six children: Ryan, Ian (Skylar), Katie, Draven (Saku), TeSa, Lahl, and another son, Wade Cox with his children, Hunter and Cheyenne. He also is survived by a brother Otis Lee Robinson and nephews John, Rick, and Randy.
David graduated from Las Animas High School and Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. He worked as a senior systems manager for 35 years at SPS and later retired with IBM. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Christian Church and the NRA. He loved many things including playing golf and watching it, racing dirt bikes to riding Harley motorcycles, camping, hiking, hunting, and telling stories. Family members said he was the smartest man they ever knew, and his grandchildren called him “Pop”, “Pops”, and “Davo”. He loved computers, the outdoors, building things, and helping anyone who needed him. He was a wonderful husband and father and the best grandfather ever. He will be missed by all who knew him.
