David "Pee Wee" Martinez Jr., 39 of Amarillo, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011.
Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Friday in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road with Deacon David Duenes officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Laurence Catholic Church, 2300 N. Spring St. with the Rev. Adan Vallejo as celebrant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East.
David was born Nov. 15, 1971, in Albuquerque, N.M., to David Martinez Sr. and Helen Solis Martinez. He passed away on May 9, 2011. He was married to his loving wife, Janet, for 19 years.
David was a hard worker as a master craftsman of stucco construction work, having learned the trade at a young age of 13. He took such pride in his work.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Spending time with his family and his friends was his priority in life. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved, and he was loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. He attended St. Laurence Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Orlando Garcia Sr.
Survivors include his loving family, his wife, Janet; three daughters, Diane Garcia Martinez, Monica Martinez and Angelina Martinez, all of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Annalisia, Antonio and Anevaeh; his parents, David Martinez Sr. of Odessa and Helen Solis of Amarillo; eight brothers, Rudy Villareal, Pete Montes, Juan Montes, Chris Montes, Noel Montes, Anthony Montes, Eddie Martinez and Sammy Martinez; and six sisters, Sandra Fierro, Michelle Izaguirre, Angela Luna, Elena Montes, Olivia Martinez and Toni Martinez.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
