David Knox

David Clay Knox, 86, of Amarillo Died Saturday November 9, 2019 in Amarillo surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be Thursday November 21 at 10:30 at Pleasant Valley United Methodist church, with Pastor Bob Heidecker officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors.

David was born July 15, 1933 in Abilene, Texas to Clay and Ian Knox. He had a happy childhood growing up in church, and could always be found with a smile on his face. He eventually made his way to Amarillo where he graduated from Amarillo high school, and later David would become a long time resident of Waxahachie. David earned a Bachelor’s degree, and was very proud to be a part of the medical field where he worked as a Medical Technologist; He then went on to preach for ten years. David loved to sing, play the harmonica, and read westerns; he also enjoyed collecting hats and spending time with his beloved dog Maddie. David was preceded in death by his first wife Erma and his second wife Muriel, one brother Gordon Knox; and his parents.

Survivors include one son Paul Knox of Bucaramanga in Columbia; Two Sisters Reita Norman of Amarillo, and Anna Jo Sears of Lake Kiowa; one Sister-in-law Doris Knox of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church at 316 Valley Ave, Amarillo, TX 79108.
