David F. Keahey

David F. Keahey, 65 of Amarillo passed away on August 10, 2011. His service will be at 1:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church West Campus, 4415 Wesley, Amarillo, TX. Burial will follow at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter Road, Amarillo, TX.
The family will receive friends at the home located at 8627 Addison, Amarillo, TX and from
5-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
David was born on July 22, 1946 in Canadian, TX to Francis and Neola Keahey. He attended schools in Canadian. David enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1964, serving in the Vietnam War. There he served as the crew chief of the C-132. He was honorably discharged in 1967. David attended many veteran groups at the VA and the Veteran’s Center. He managed various body shops for over 40 years before becoming an insurance adjuster for Ethridge Claim Service Center in Pampa. He married Wana Moore on June 28, 1996 in Amarillo. David loved his family immensely and had an incredible passion for all types of automobiles. He was a member of St. Stephen’s United Methodist West Campus for the last 3 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George Keahey.
His survivors include his wife, Wana Keahey of the home; son, Bobby Payne and wife Kenna of Amarillo; 3 daughters, Stephanie Silman and husband Keith of Amarillo, Valerie Turner and husband Art of Pampa and Lawana Pulliam and husband Lynn of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Holley of Amarillo, Trevor and Austin Turner of Pampa, Stephen and Clara Pulliam of Amarillo and Kennadi, Kensleigh and Landry Payne of Amarillo; Keetha Skaggs and husband Duane and Alicia Barber and husband Daniel; 2 step-grandchildren, Evan and Atlee Skaggs of Amarillo; sister, Janet Johnston of Phoenix, AZ; a special uncle, Arthur “Sonny” Verkler and many other extended family members.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Odyssey Hospice, 6900 I-40 West, Suite 150, Amarillo TX 79106.
