Darwin Dwight Sanders, age 66, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. A time for the family to receive friends will be Friday, November 8, 2013 from 5-8 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Sherman Eastland, chaplain officiating. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery.
Darwin was born January 3, 1947 in Littlefield, Texas to Jack Leon and Doris (Parker) Sanders. He was a veteran in the US Air Force serving in Vietnam. He worked most of his life for TDCJ and as a Warden at the Clements Unit in Amarillo for several years.
Darwin is survived by his wife Verna of Amarillo, a son Jack and Amanda Sanders of Frisco, Tx. and a daughter Jennifer and husband Nol Jones of Wellington, Colo. and five grandchildren Taylor and Jack Jones and Haley, Zach and Paige Sanders. He also leaves behind a brother Don Sanders of Farmington, NM and a sister Kay Hudson of Amarillo and his Step Father and Step Mother John and Corky Tenny.
