His service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Everett “Bud” Nelson officiating.
Visitation from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Chapel.
Dale was born on August 6, 1929 in Milaca, MN to Harold and Mable Mudgett. There he attended and graduated from high school. He enlisted in the United States Air Force following graduation. Dale was honorably discharged after 6 years of faithful service. He married Frances “Penny” Davis in January of 1971. They were married for 41 years. Dale worked for the United States Postal Service for 31 years. He was a member of the VFW. Dale was a talented gardener who loved to share his vegetables with everyone around him. He was an avid fisherman, a hobby he shared with much of his family. Everything Dale did was done precisely, with planning. He was a very detailed man, a collector of “things” and strong-willed even as he grew in age. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a granddaughter
His survivors include his wife, Frances “Penny” Mudgett of Amarillo; 11 children; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and a sister.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Amarillo VA Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
