Her service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Jose Gomez as Celebrant. Rosary will be Sunday April 1, 2012 at 7pm at LaGrone- Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel 8310 S. Coulter, Amarillo, TX
Cordelia was born on April 19, 1924 in Colonias, New Mexico unto Clodovis and Mela Romero Madrid. She was raised and educated in the Colonias area. Before World War 2 she met and married Manuel Urenda on September 28, 1942. They then moved to Amarillo where she raised her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Corte Guadalupana.
Her survivors include three sons, John Urenda and his wide Beatres of Amarillo, Manuel Urenda Jr., of Amarillo, TX, and Simon Urenda of Dumas, TX. Two daughters, Melissa Guzman and Sylvia “Moona” Urenda of Amarillo, five sisters and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
