Clinton "CJ" Norton Jr., 40, of Amarillo died Thursday Oct. 23, 2014.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter Rd, Amarillo, Texas with Pastor Curtis Redmond of Beacon Baptist Church in Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
CJ was born July 14, 1974 in Amarillo to Clinton and Charlene Norton. He attended Tascosa High School and later completed his education through Jobs Corps in Guthrie, OK. CJ returned to Amarillo to attend truck driving school. He drove for ten years. He then returned home to be with his mom and children.
Everyone that met CJ knew him for his kindness, his smile and his loud laugh, which was inherited by his children.
He was preceded in death by his father Clinton Norton Sr.; two brothers Bryan Elliott and Elbert Deon; one sister Lindsay Kay; a best friend (brother) Malcolm Cowens.
Survivors include his mother Charlene Walford; his children Tiffany Cummins, Kelsie Norton, Xavier Norton, and Jordan Norton, all of Amarillo; his siblings Romona R. Slay of California, Jerry Marshall of Purcell, OK, Jerod Marshall of Beaumont, TX. and Gilbert Norton of Amarillo; two granddaughters Dayvia and Annastazjia; pops-Dwight Cowens; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
