Clarence Dalvin Gibbs was born in Amarillo, TX, on December 26, 1965, to Alvie Lee Gibbs and Doris Marie Lucas Gibbs. He passed from this life on April 1, 2021. His survivors include his wife, Lana De Nee' Cramer Gibbs; son, Shawn Gibbs and wife Samantha; four grandchildren: Keagan, Peyton, Braxton, and Hudson Gibbs; mother, Doris Gibbs; sisters, Margaret Gibbs and Ann Ackroyd and husband Steven; his father-in-law, Eddie Cramer; his mother- in- law, Jeanette Cramer; two brother-in-laws, Wesley Cramer and wife Mandy and DeShane Cramer; three nephews, four nieces, and eight great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvie Lee Gibbs, and brother, Alvie Dwaine Gibbs.
Clarence was born fighting, just the way he died, at three months premature, causing him to have sight in only one eye. Despite that, he grew up very active and athletic, playing football throughout his school days. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1985. In 1989, he met the love of his life, Lana. They were married on July 11, 1991, and had their son, Shawn, on September 21, 1991. In 1992, he started at Gilvin-Terrill, where he worked until his passing. Clarence lived for his family, and built a wonderful life with Lana and Shawn. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed playing eight ball pool, boating, riding motorcycles, watching the Dallas Cowboys, dancing with his wife, and arguing with everyone. He always had to be right.
Clarence was the epitome of a family man. After his father passed away in 2005, he stepped into the role of "leader" with ease. He set the standard for his entire family with a tremendous work ethic, a loving heart, tough love, and proud words. He was very proud of everyone in his family, especially Shawn, and made sure that his friends and co-workers knew so. Intelligent and quick witted, Clarence made it known that he was the smartest and best looking of the Gibbs family, although everyone else was a close second. To know and be close to him, was to know there was always someone in your corner. He was immensely loved and respected by each person that knew him. Clarence would greet people with a sarcastic comment and a laugh, and then leave them with a heartfelt goodbye hand shake or hug. A role model to all, his admiration and approval were often coveted. Sometimes his words were harsh, but they were always full of love, as he had high expectations for those sharing his blood line. He is leaving behind a legacy that will last forever, and will be missed for a long, long time.
