Chester Neil McMillan

Chester Neil McMillan, 89, of Katy, TX, died on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Fairview Assembly of God CHurch. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Military Honors will be presented by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Chester was born on April 14, 1926 in Stamford, TX to Reverend Neil Anderson McMillan and Norma Lee Arnold McMillan. He was a Masonry Contractor in Amarillo until his retirement, a member of the American Legion and a faithful member of Fairview Assembly of God Church. He lived in the Houston area the last few years of his life where he attended Fellowship of Praise Church with both of his daughters. He lived a full life and was cherished by all of those that knew him. Always ready to help anyone that he could, he was full of life, energy, wit, and laughter. He cherished his family and the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and the love of his life, Ruth McMillan of Amarillo, TX., whom he was married to for 50 years, a son-in-law, Kenneth Howe II and grand-daughter Angela Howe.
He is survived by his second wife Marian McMillan; two daughters, Virginia Howe of Katy and Carolyn Vandiver and husband Jack of Houston; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He loved Marian's children and grandchildren and claimed them as his own.
The family will be receiving friends from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Friday, December 4th at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.
