Charles Eugene Evans

Charles Eugene Evans, 90, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018. Memorial services will be at 11:30 am, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Arden Road Baptist Church with Cody Allen officiating.

Charles was born on October 11, 1927 in Wichita Falls to Charles H. and Viola Evans. He married the love of is life, Falba Turner in 1948 and they recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. After graduating from Borger High School in 1945, Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked 38 years for Santa Fe Railroad retiring in 1987. Charles enjoyed playing golf with his sons and friends, water skiing and fishing. More than anything, Charles enjoyed traveling and never got tired of seeing a new country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Camille and her husband Bruce Ewers.

Charles is survived by his wife, Falba; two sons, Ron Evans and wife Cindi of Waco and John Evans and wife Sheila of Canyon; five grandchildren, Ashley Warren and husband Scott of Waco, Reggie Evans and wife Brooke of Plano, Kimberly Young and husband Jordan of Keller, Anisa Gilley and husband Eric of New York City and Selina Denney and husband Brian of Canyon; eight great grandchildren, Mabry and Miles Warren, Bentley and Trip Evans, Walker and Bailey Ann Young and Aria and Aubri Denney.
