Charles Corbet, 52, of Amarillo passed away Friday, April 22, 2011.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with the Rev. Roy Wheeler officiating.
Mr. Corbet was born June 27, 1958, in Omaha, Neb., to Ronald and Mary Jean Corbet. He grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1976. He attended West Texas State University, Southwest Texas State University and Amarillo College and earned a degree in business. He worked for the Amarillo Transit System for many years and retired in 2000.
Charles enjoyed playing golf and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved attending his son Christofer's football games. He was a loving son, father and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include a son, Christofer Corbet of Amarillo; Christofer's mother, Patricia of Amarillo; his father, Ronald Corbet of Amarillo; a brother, Johnnie Wayne Corbet and wife Chris of Amarillo; and a sister, Ronda Johnson and husband Michael of San Jose, Calif.
The family suggests memorials be to West Amarillo Christian Church, 3701 Soncy Road, Amarillo, TX 79119; or a favorite charity.
