Cecil C. Rich, Sr., 85, of Amarillo died on Sunday, January 24, 2016. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Bell Ave Baptist Church, 5211 Bell Street, Amarillo with Billy E. Barker, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Citizen Cemetery, Clarendon, Texas. LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter Street.

Cecil was born on August 10, 1930 in Brice, Texas to Claudie C. and Beulah G. Rich.  He joined the United Sates Army on September 16, 1953, serving during the Korean War.  He married Mary Alice Swearingen on November 18, 1950 in Clarendon. Cecil worked for the United States Post Office retiring in 2000 after 35 years of service.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon. Cecil was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams where the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and St. Louis Cardinals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, a son in law, a granddaughter, and a great granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Rich; sons, Cecil Rich II, Shane Rich and his wife, Brenda, Alan Rich and his wife, Karla, and  Mark Rich and his wife, Trina; daughters, Kathy Scott, and Susan Kirk; sisters, Mary Denton and Mina Ivey; 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday,  January 26, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
