Carol Lee Reining, 87, of Amarillo died on Sunday, May 1, 2016. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S Coulter St.
Carol was born on June 7, 1928 in Oronoque, Kansas to George W. and Nina J. Corns. She grew up in Oronoque where she attended school. She married Edward A. Reining in Dallas, Texas on August 13, 1961. Carol worked as a cafeteria manager for AISD for 24 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing canasta weekly with several ladies, collecting tea pots and sewing. Carol was a grandmother to everyone. She had the most adventurous soul that most people have never seen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward A. Reining, two sons, Ronald L. Cargill and Walter D. Reining, a daughter, Shirley E. Reining, two brothers, Lloyd Corns and Kenneth Corns, two sisters, Elnora Kingston and Lahoma Corns, a grandson, Shane T. Hawks, two great grandsons, Jackson Owens and Brady Caipa.
She is survived by her children, Edwina K. Owens, Barbara J. Scheck, Beverly A. Hawks, Edward A. Reining, Jr., William K. Reining, Renee E. Reining; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
