Carlos Aguilar Jr.

Carlos Aguilar, Jr, 23, of Amarillo passed away peacefully on September 17, 2019.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at St. Laurence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery East. The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 20, at 5:00 p.m. and there will be a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.

Carlos, Jr. was born on September 3, 1996, in Amarillo to Carlos and Esmeralda (Vasquez) Aguilar.

Jr. is described, by his family, as being a kind, loving person. He was always willing to help everyone in need, regardless of the time of day or night. He enjoyed spending time at family events more than anything else. Jr. was a huge Dallas Cowboy’s fan. It was also a common occurrence in the Aguilar home to hear Jr. and his brother yelling across the rooms, as they were fierce competitors in the “gaming world”. Jr. always relished in beating his brother’s team!

His family lovingly tells of his determination to keep everyone up to date; always sharing the latest news on Facebook. Jr. was a responsible person with exceptional character. He was a great son, grandson, brother, nephew and cousin. The recent birth of his only nephew showed a side of Jr. that was so special. His nephew’s face would light up when Jr. walked into the room. He will be missed by so many family and friends and will be forever cherished in our hearts.

His loving grandmothers, Martha Vasquez and Gracie Ann Duarte and his great-grandmothers, Maria Vasquez and Angelina Santos, preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Carlos and Esmeralda Aguilar, Sr., his siblings, Monisa Aguilar and her boyfriend, Julian Chavez, Juan Luis Aguilar and Micayela Vasquez; his nephew, Julian Chavez, Jr.; two grandfathers, Luis Vasquez and Juan Luis Aguilar. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
