Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Sat. June 15, 2013 Saint Stephen United Methodist Church West Campus with Rev. Ken Cole officiating.
Mr. Schnack was born Nov. 2, 1923 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Peter Christan Schnack and Clara Lane Schnack. He graduated from Kingsville High School in 1942 and earned his engineering certifications from both Texas A&I and also Texas A&M. Daws married Jane Harris on Nov. 6, 1947 and they would have been married 66 years this November. Daws was a loyal and devoted employee for the Texas Highway Department for many years, where he worked as a Field Tech bridge Engineer. He also worked for several years as a Field Engineer for Thomas and Israel Engineering and Surveying. He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and he loved playing Pinochle with his family and was huge Dallas Cowboy fan. Mr. Schnack was a loving and devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather, who always put God and family first. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Dobbs, a daughter, Nancy Hazeltine and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Lane Estes
Survivors include his wife Jane, two daughter, Patty Sakry of Evergreen, CO and Susan Munoz and husband Bennie of Amarillo, his son, Kirk Schnack and wife Patrice of Rawlins, WY, a sister, Gretchen Butler and husband Lee of Georgetown, a brother, Peter Christian Schnack of Portland, OR: four granddaughters, Crystal Estes, Abby Jane Wills, Vanessa Bacher and Savanah Sakry and one great grandson, Christian Kirk Kennedy.
