Calvin Hornsby November 26, 1936 – December 7, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Calvin Hornsby, 88, of Amarillo, Texas, on December 7, 2024. Calvin was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, celebrated for his determination and steadfast support of his family, friends, and community.

A true entrepreneur, Calvin founded and successfully operated Cal Tech, a respected metal business. Beyond this, he excelled as a property owner and manager, overseeing both residential and commercial properties throughout the Amarillo area. His dedication and hard work left a lasting legacy in the business world.

Calvin’s generosity and kind spirit were unmatched. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he welcomed everyone with an open door and an open heart, seeing the best in those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Calvin Hornsby and Juanita Hornsby, and his sisters, Lonnie Jenell (Nell) Hornsby-Woodard and Hattie Mae Hornsby-Elliott.

Calvin is survived by his two sons, Todd Hornsby and Wes Hornsby (Cheri), and his six cherished grandchildren: Taylor Hornsby, Tanner Hornsby, Trey Hornsby, Sydney Hornsby, Max Hornsby, and Lacey Hornsby.

Calvin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to hard work, generosity, and love for his family and community.
