Bonnie Frances Smith, 93, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Llano Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 -7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
Bonnie was born on April 19, 1926 in Lakeview, TX to Jesse and Mattie Stanley. She graduated from Lakeview High School and married the love of her life, Benjamin Franklin Smith on September 1, 1943 in Memphis, TX. Bonnie worked for DHS until retiring in 1990. She was very active in her church and enjoyed shopping at WalMart, sewing and quilting. Bonnie loved spending time with her family and she will be greatly missed by all of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Benjamin; a son, Stan and three brothers, R.L. Stanley, Jim Stanley and John Stanley.
She is survived by three daughters, Lynda Smith and husband Richard Dambold, Joyce Orr and husband David and Janice Larkan and husband Eddie; two sons, Ben Smith and wife Josie and Jim Smith and wife Jane; her daughter-in-law, Patti Sundbeck; her granddaughter, Shelley Cunningham and husband Mike; two step granddaughters, Ashley Glasscock and Ashley Dambold; her adopted granddaughter, Valerie Griego-Bustos and family; three great grandchildren, Alex Cunningham, Thomas Cunningham and wife Paityn and Bonny Cunningham and one great great grandchild, Flynn Rose Cunningham.
The family would like to thank BSA Hospice for the care and comfort they provided for Bonnie during the last days of her journey here on Earth.
