Bonnie Marie Maxwell

September 18, 1927 — April 20, 2019

Bonnie Marie Goodman Maxwell went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Irwin Road Baptist Church with Pastor Barney Railsback officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery.

Bonnie was born in Bullard Chapel, Oklahoma on September 18, 1927, the ninth child born to John Wesley and Ida Lillian Goodman. She married the man that saved her a seat on the school bus and the love of her life, James Eldon Maxwell in Madill, Oklahoma on February 10, 1945. Bonnie was fiercely devoted to her husband and family with a loyalty and love that created an unbreakable bond. There was always food in the kitchen and room at the table. Her home was a safe place where children were read to and made to feel unique and special. She served the Lord by teaching Sunday School, and her legacy as MIss Bonnie lives on in the lives she taught about Jesus. She also graced Sunday mornings with her beautiful voice, and she was always an example of God's love and grace. Bonnie lived her life in the service of others, and she will be missed beyond measure. Though our hearts may grieve, they are full of precious memories and the knowledge that heaven gained it's most beautiful saint. What a reunion is taking place!

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Donald Jay Maxwell; a grandson, Gregory Don Maxwell; her parents; three brothers, Lester, Lee and Lowell Goodman; six sisters, Dora Harris, Thelma LaFevers, Pauline Lovett, Betty Channel, Ysleta Sherman and Flora Dean Warden.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Harris and the late Ken Harris, Ronald Maxwell, Edgil Maxwell and wife Rhonda, Doug Maxwell and wife Linda, Mary Holt and husband Forest, and Starla Kelly and husband Richard; fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and more on the way.
