Bobby James Rogers, 81, of Amarillo died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012.
Private family services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter St.
Mr. Rogers was born July 27, 1931, in Amarillo to Christopher and Lurline Rogers. He grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1948. Bobby was an ironworker with the boilermakers union out of Denver until his retirement. His job led to extensive travel throughout the country, culminating in work on the World Trade Center. Mr. Rogers was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Amarillo. He loved playing the harmonica and spending time with his grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an aunt, Marie Drake; an uncle, Ross Drake; a brother, Don Rogers; a grandson, L.B. Ross; and a son, Mark Rogers.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Williams and husband Rocky of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Savannah Johnson and Timothy Williams of Amarillo; and a lifelong companion, Elouise Rogers of Amarillo.
