Bob W. Chism, 73, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Deacon Jim Brown as Celebrant. Arrangements by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S Coulter.
Bob was born on January 27, 1943 in Meridian, Mississippi to George B. and Verbie M. Chism. He attended W.T.S.U. where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He married Grace Lange on May 29, 1971. He worked as an accountant at Pioneer Natural Gas and Mesa Corporation. He enjoyed golf, fishing and dancing in his younger days. Bob never met a stranger, loved his kids and grandkids. He was always willing to lend a hand and help out anyone in need. He had a big heart and will be missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Becky Berta, a brother G.B. Chism, two brothers in law Steve Brown and Jerry Lange, and a sister in law Joan Harbison.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Chism; two daughters, Heather Thompson and husband, Rod and Kendra Barrett and husband Cade; and four grandchildren, Peyton, Madison, Everett and Emory.
Family will accept guests and friends, Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
