Billy Joe McCutchen

Billy Joe McCutchen, 84, of Amarillo passed on Friday, November 30, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 am Monday, December 3, 2018 at Lamount Drive Baptist Church, 8400 Lamount Drive, Amarillo, Texas. Burial will be held at 2:30pm Monday, December 3, 2018 in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wellington, Texas. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Joe was born on March 20, 1934 in Duke, Oklahoma to Clovis and Mable McCutchen. He married Betty Jo Cagle on November 11, 1953 at the Wellington Fire Station. Joe worked for Plains Milk Company for 40 years. Joe loved racing cars, fishing, hunting and golfing. Most of all he loved his family. He had a wry sense of humor and quick wit and it lives on in all of his kids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jimmy McCutchen.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Betty Jo McCutchen; children, Starla Jo McCutchen, Karen Jo Pope and husband, Gary, Joe Kyle McCutchen and wife, Sheryl and Stephanie Jo Lowther and husband, Mark; brothers, Herman McCutchen and Bobby McCutchen; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Family will receive guest on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at funeral home.The family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice of the Southwest at 5211 SW 9th Ave., Ste. 100, Amarillo, TX 79106.
