Billie Jean McMinn, 85, of Amarillo passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Billie Jean was born on March 1, 1929 to John and Liddie Mae Wells in Pattonville, Texas. She married her husband Floyd on August 9, 1947 in Paris, Texas and they moved to Amarillo in 1955. Billie Jean was a housekeeper and loved taking care of elderly people in their homes. She was always taking care of people or her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook and go fishing with Floyd. In her later years, she loved talking on the telephone.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd, three brothers, five sisters and a granddaughter, Marti Jean.
She is survived by her son, James McMinn and his wife Mary of Amarillo; a grandson Randy McMinn of Amarillo; two sisters. Sarah Johnson and husband Harrell of Amarillo and Joyce Rozzell of Borger; two brothers, John Wells and Jimmy Wells, both of Chandler, AZ.; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family will be receiving friends from 5-7 pm , Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.
