Billie Faye Pickett Ham was born April 13, 1932, to W.C. Pickett and Minnie Bell Dysert Pickett. She was Salutatorian of the Dumas High School class of 1950. Along with her husband, Harold, she moved into farming life in the Middle Well Community west of Dumas. In 1957 she received the call into the ministry. Flying her own plane home on weekends, she attended Perkins School of Theology at SMU. In 1960 Billie became pastor of the Channing and Middle Well United Methodist Churches.
After her two children were grown, she attended WTSU and in 1977 graduated with a Bachelor of Business Arts. In June of 1979 Billie became a licensed CPA.
Billie loved teaching the Bible in her Sunday school class, traveling, and being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and an older sister Alma Jeane Stark.
Billie is survived by a sister, Claudeane Sublett of McKinney, daughter Cynthia Ham of Amarillo, son Kenneth Ham and wife Norma, of Corpus Christi, grandsons Brent Ham and wife April, Matt Ham and wife Jami of Amarillo, Kenny Ham and wife Michele of Corpus Christi and granddaughter Tori Ham and friend Brandon Stroud of Smyrna Ga. Billie had nine great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to: The Blanket Ministry for homeless children at Polk St. United Methodist Church or a charity of your choosing.
Visitation will be Thursday 6-8pm at La Grone Blackburn Shaw on Coulter Rd.
Services will be Friday 3:00 at Polk St. United Methodist Church.
