Bill Levitt, 80, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
Mr. Levitt's services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with Sherman Eastland, chaplain of Odyssey Hospice, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Wheeler Cemetery.
Bill was born on April 10, 1931 in Wheeler, TX to Carl Milton and Juanita Bradstreet Levitt. He graduated from Allison High School. He then served in the United States Army, serving in Korea. He resided in Wheeler for many years and was employed with TXDOT in Canadian. Bill then moved to Amarillo where he resided for the last 25 years. He worked for Burlington Railroad in rail maintenance. He enjoyed listening to Gospel music and reading his Bible as well as eating out at local restaurants.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Arabie, 2 brothers, Jerry Levitt and Don Levitt.
His survivors include 3 brothers, Gene Levitt and wife Liz of Amarillo, Larry Levitt and wife Ann of Portland, OR and Tom Levitt and wife Shelley of Johnson City, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
