Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, April 30, 2016  at the LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home, Coulter Road Chapel with Reverend Dick Gray officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors.

The family will accept guests and friends Friday evening from 5-7pm at the funeral home.

Betty was born on May 28, 1926 in Shamrock to Elmer and Ida Mae Bell.  She attended Memphis High School and graduated from West Texas State University with a BSN degree . She married Willie Perry Stevens on December 15, 1945 and was a faithful member of San Jacinto Baptist Church and more recently First Christian Church in Amarillo.  Betty was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 45 years. She worked as an RN until her retirement in 1990. Betty loved traveling, sewing, quilting, crocheting and her Boston Terriers. She adored her grandkids and great-grandkids. Betty was loved by all who knew her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Glen and D.B. Bell

Betty is survived by a son, Perry Stevens and wife Jo of Amarillo, two daughters, Vickie Hilmers and Barbara Harvey and husband Nelson, all of Amarillo, a brother Stan Bell of Wilmer, a sister, Joan Combs of Denver, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
