October 16, 1924 – May 8, 2015

Bessie “Beth” Lankford, 90, of Amarillo died on Friday, May 8, 2015. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Llano Cemetery with Pastor Joe Andrajack of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Beth was born on October 16, 1924 in Cotton Valley, LA. to Oscar and Irene Nichols. She married Earl Lankford on November 2, 1951 in Clovis, NM. She was a home health care nurse and a private doctor physician until she was eighty years old. Beth loved fishing, backpacking and Native American Art and Culture. She also loved to cook and bake. Beth was a strong willed woman who was never afraid to speak her mind. She loved her family and will be missed by them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandson Allen Baumgardner.

She is survived by two daughters, Toni Pacific Connally and husband Pat and Sonja Pacific Anderson, both of Pampa; a son John Pacific and wife Kathy of Utah; a sister, Bettie Casados of Dumas; six grandchildren, Traci Baumgardner and husband Jerry Flynn of Springfield, CO., Christine Pacific of Seattle, WA., and Melanie Pacific, Stephanie Pacific, Anthony Pacific and Annie Pacific; three great grandchildren, Allen Baumgardner -Zuzik and wife Jessica currently living in Malawi, Theodore Pacific of Seatlle, WA., and James Parker Lynn of Springfield, CO. and close friends, Edna Faulkner and Bruce Weinberger.

The family would like to offer their sincerest thanks to the staff of Interim Healthcare and especially to Kendra Smith and Princess Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Maverick Boys and Girls Club, 1923 S. Lincoln, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
