Bessie Whitley Grimes, age 86, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Rick Harrison, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating.
Bessie was born May 22, 1928 in Floydada to Sidney and Roxie (Davis) Whitley. She married the love of her life James L. Grimes in Childress on June 16, 1950. Bessie has lived in Amarillo since 1959.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years James Grimes of Amarillo and a daughter Cheryl and husband Russell of Amarillo and a granddaughter Kacie Luther also of Amarillo.
