Mass of Christian burial will be 11am Monday April 15, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Amarillo with Father Hector Madrigal as celebrant.
Bertha was born January 1, 1941 in El Chamizal Chihuahua unto Arturo and Martina Valdez Chacon. She married Juan Garay in January of 1962 in Chihuahua, Mexico. They moved to Amarillo in 1997. Bertha was a loving woman of strong faith who enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked gardening especially in her rose garden. She was always ready and willing to give her family the best advice.
Preceded in death by her husband Juan in 2005 and her parents.
Survivors include Graciela Mendoza and her family in Frisco, Texas: Irma Chacon and her family in Salt Lake City, Utah: Clara Ruiz and her family from Amarillo, Texas: Edelia Gonzalez and her family from Oklahoma City, OK; Teresa Escudero and family from Amarillo, TX; Juan Garay and family of Amarillo, TX; Ana Lila Fernandez and family of Amarillo, TX; Monica Sanchez and family from Amarillo, TX; and Jaime Garay and family of Lantana, TX. 23 grandchildren and 3 great grat grandchildren
