Bennie Munoz

Bennie Munoz, 81, of Amarillo passed from this life on Monday, March 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 am Saturday, March 9, 2019 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are under the personal direction of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Bennie was born on May 24, 1937 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Refugio and Ethel Munoz. He joined the United States Air Force on April 2, 1955 and served his country proudly for three years. Bennie worked at Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center in the supply department until his retirement in 1979. He graduated from Howard College in Big Springs, Texas with an Associates Degree. He married Susie Kennedy on October 19, 1996 in Amarillo. Together they enjoyed a full life in recovery in Amarillo. Bennie was an avid sponsor where he helped others to lifelong recovery. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sonia Kay Cryer and a granddaughter, Sydney.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Susie Munoz; children, Anthony Paul Munoz, Paula Diane Ince and husband, Stacey, and Crystal Lane Estes; a sister, Rosie McCarthy; son in law, Paul Cryer; six grandchildren, Christina, Ethan, Danielle, Kim, Melanie, Christian; ten great grandchildren, Rylee, Emma, Chloe, Gavin, Gabriella, MacKenzie, Ruben, Dominic, Ashtyn and Haven.
