Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Friday June 15, 2012 at LaGrone-Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter Road.
Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by LaGrone-Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors.
Mr. Mitchell was born on Oct. 12, 1914 in Jackson County, OK to Richard and Celia Mitchell. He grew up on the family farm there in Jackson county. Basil married Nedra Lucas on Mar. 28, 1938 in Altus, OK. They had been married 73 years at the time of his passing. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and was always working on something. Mr. Mitchell worked for the Aurora Public Schools for many years in Aurora, CO. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 4 brothers and his son Stanley Mitchell in 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Nedra of the home, two grandsons, Douglas Mitchell and wife Kyle of Tennessee and Nathan Mitchell of Sherman, TX; seven great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
