Barbara Jean Ricketts McGuire went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2024.

Barbara was born October 7,1938 in Amarillo TX. to Charles and Mary Ricketts. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School. After graduation she packed her red convertible and headed off to Colorado to see what the world had in store for her. From Colorado she moved to Las Vegas, NV while in Vegas she worked in the Cage at The Horseshoe Casino where she met her first husband Jimmy DeAngelo. Jimmy and Barb lived in CO. and later settled in Polson MT. where she worked for the US Postal Service. She later met and married Sean McGuire in Polson, MT. After retiring from the Postal Service Sean and Barb moved to Austin, TX. Barb loved to travel, play board games, poker and work puzzles. She will be remembered for her since of humor and sassy comebacks and love for a nice glass of wine or whiskey. She was always available to help fellow church members with rides to appointments, church, the grocery store etc. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Austin, TX. until moving back to Amarillo, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Ricketts, brother John Ricketts, sister-in-law Jelaine Ricketts, nephew Steve Ricketts and her husband Sean McGuire. 

She is survived by her nephews Curtis Ricketts (Shirley), Christian Ricketts (Beckie) her niece Teresa Lawler (Jay) great nieces and nephews, Halie Bealmear (Beau) Aaron Ricketts (Maghan) and Amber Walls (Izzie).

In leu of flowers please make memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, Marge and George Kenny Memorial Scholarship Fund 1200 S. Washington St. Amarillo, TX.
