Barbara Lyn Blount

Barbara Lyn Blount, 68, of Amarillo passed from this life on Sunday, January 14, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2017 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.
Barbara was born on December 22, 1949 in Liberal, Kansas to Joyce Mitchell. She graduated from Spearman High School and later attended Amarillo College. Barbara married John Paul Blount on June 5, 1970 in Amarillo. She worked as a sales clerk at Hollywood Dress Shop and later as a cross country truck driver with her husband, John. Barbara collected Betty Boop.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, John Blount; daughter, Shelley Blount; son, Jamie Blount; two grandsons, Riley and Reese Blount; and numerous loving family members.
Family will receive guests on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
