Aubrey Willis "A.W." Arp, age 88, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. As one of his grandsons said "He's hanging out with Jesus today." A time for the family to receive friends will be Thursday, August 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, August 15 at 2:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Rev. Jack Lowe, officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Aubrey was born in Liberty Hills to Oscar and Velma (Joseph) Arp on July 20, 1926. He graduated from Florence High School and met the love of his life Wanda Inman and they married July 31, 1948 in Georgetown, Texas.

Aubrey proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII and since the war has operated Arp Construction, building houses in and around Amarillo, until his retirement in 2011. He was a very active member of the former First Church of the Nazarene of Amarillo and had a firm faith in Jesus his Lord and savior. He was active in family time that included fishing, and riding motorcycles in the mountains.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Royal Lee Haddock.

Aubrey, Dad and Papa is survived by his wife of 66 years Wanda of Amarillo, a son Mike and wife Danene Arp of Amarillo, a daughter Sharla and husband Gene Leggett of Amarillo and a brother Raymond Odell and wife Rose Arp of Rockport. Also left behind are his greatest achievements, his five grandchildren Mandy Arp, Ryan Richie, Tara and husband Shane Feagan, Blake Arp and Austin Arp as well as his great grandsons Preston Feagan, Javen Patrick, Jaxon Patrick, Carson Feagan and Kipton Feagan.
