Anna Jean Patton Smith 76 of Amarillo passed away on January 16, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday January 20, 2014 at the LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral home, Martin Road Chapel with Pastor Bryan Cooper of High Plains Christian Ministries Foundation.
LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors of Amarillo are in charge of arrangements.
Anna Jean Patton Smith was born the youngest of 7 children on July 29, 1937 in Turkey, Texas unto Auther and Eliza Jane Boatman Patton. She married Walter Vorland Smith on April 4, 1955 in New Mexico.
She did volunteer work for several senior citizen groups, loved arts and crafts, reading and having her kids and grandkids with her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers
She is survived by her sons. Walter L. Smith of the home, Arthur Vorland Smith and wife Judy Lynn, Perry J. Smith, Gayno Orlin Smith and John Mart Smith all of Amarillo. her daughters Valerie Jean Hamilton and husband James Earl of Amarillo, two brothers Robert J. Patton of Amarillo and Gayno Auther Patton of Benbrook, Texas, one sister Carolyn Jane Medart and husband Don of Amarillo, one sister in law Inga Patton of West Salem, Washington, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren with another on the way and four great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The body will be available for viewing from 11-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Visitation with the family will be from 4-6pm today at the funeral home.
