Anna was born March 28, 1914, in Greeley, Nebraska, to Thomas Smyth and Hannah Snell Smyth. She married John O’Gorman on June 11, 1935 and raised their family in Twitty Community.
Anna was a school teacher in Nebraska before marrying John O’Gorman. Anna was a faithful member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and a very special grandmother. Anna was a very hard worker. She loved to dance, play cards, and cook for her family and friends. She was known for her sense of humor and her love for life. She will be missed by all.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, 13 siblings, her husband, John O’Gorman; two sons, Danny and Stephen O’Gorman; and a daughter, Francis Wilson Thompson.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Schlegel of Shamrock; her son, Robert O’Gorman of Shamrock; sixteen grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be sent to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Shamrock, Texas.
