Anna Marie Kalka

Anna Marie Kalka, 90, of Amarillo passed from this life on Monday, July 2, 2018. Wake services will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Martin Road Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 6, 2018 in St. Laurence Catholic Church with Father Haider Quintero and Father Shane Wieck as co-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.

Anna Marie was born on January 2, 1928 in Amarillo, Texas to John A. and Mary A. Wink. She grew up in Amarillo where she attended St. Francis Catholic School and graduated from Amarillo High School. Anna married Carroll Eugene Kalka on June 8, 1948 and together they raised five children on their farm. She was a member of Sunny Side Extension Club where she served as President. She loved living on her Little Red Ranch where she enjoyed gardening, raising dogs and canning where she won over 100 blue ribbons at the Tri State County Fair. She will be remembered as the best mother, grandmother and friend who never met a stranger or had a bad day. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carroll Kalka, a sister Lucille White and a brother Eugene Wink.

Anna Marie is survived by her children, Ray Kalka and wife Melissa, Doug Kalka and wife Cheryl, Mary Ann Blessen and husband Mike, Jeff Kalka and wife Becky and Christi Garrison; nine grandchildren, Cameron Kalka, Coleman Kalka , Chase Kalka, Dustin Navarrete, Brandon Kalka, Krystal Bippus, Tanner Blessen, Corey Blessen and Colton Blessen; seven great grandchildren and a sister, Theresa Gill.
