Amparo Mayorga

Agosto 30, 1930 – Agosto 31, 2024

Eloisa y Ubaldo Suarez

Adela y Liborio Avalos

Elena y Julio Allegretti

Rebeca y Luis Gomez

Lupe y Jose Luis Perez

Amparo Mayorga August 30, 1930 – August 31, 2024

Amparo Mayorga, 94, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Amparo was born in Berrendos, Monte Escobedo, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Indalecio Mayorga and Petra Valenzuela.

Amparo leaves us with great sorrow and countless memories. She was a strong, creative, and gentle-spirited woman who learned to overcome all the challenges that life brought her way. She was extraordinarily intelligent, having studied sewing and dressmaking, she also learned to cut hair and do perms. Anyone who met her knew her love for making crafts. She spent many years making earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rosaries, and she was also a talented knitter. Any child or grandchild who visited her home would never walk away empty handed as she would gift everyone a rosary, scarf, hat, etc. Amparo loved to dress her best and took great care of herself. One of her greatest achievements was passing down all of her learned talents and lessons down to her daughters. She would often say that her children were the reason for her life.

Thank you, Mother, for everything that you taught us and for setting the example of being a great woman. Most importantly, thank you for giving us the gift of life. All our love and respect to you.

Amparo is survived by her 2 sons,
