Alva Jean Dremmel

Alva Jean Dremmel, 88, of Amarillo, TX passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Jean was born on August 24, 1936 in Midlothian, TX to Pearl (Gestes) Witherspoon and Howard Witherspoon. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1955. After high school, Jean joined the United States Navy and honorably served for 4 years as a Personnel Clerk. She later worked for 29 years at the American Quarter Horse Association in Amarillo, TX until retiring in 2001. Jean loved gardening, spending time with family, watching reruns of Gunsmoke, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. 

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Pearl and Howard Witherspoon, her sister, Sue Oldham and brother, Harlan Witherspoon. 

Survivors include her two daughters, Jennifer Davis and husband Doug, and Robin Dremmel; two brothers, Jack Witherspoon and James (Bo) Witherspoon; 4 grandchildren, Amanda, Joseph, Sarah, & Kyndal and 6 great grandchildren; Aria, Michael, Adelyn, Jettie, Breckham, and Maverick.
