Alice Marie Allen, 88, passed away on January 5, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. She was born on January 19, 1936, in Boone, Colorado, to Bill and Bernice McKay Davidson. She married Robert N. Allen on July 23, 1960, and they had five children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Bernice Davidson, her husband, Robert Allen, a son Michael Allen, a grandson Buckly Allen, a great-grandson Rhett Lujan, and two brothers, Billy Davidson and Jim Davidson.

Alice is survived by four children: Jimmy Allen, Stephanie (Cary) Speer, Cyrus (Melanie) Allen, and Cody Bill (Tamara) Allen, 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Alice worked at the weapons depot in Pueblo, Colorado, and then for the United Methodist Church in Tulia, finally working at JC Penny in Pueblo, Colorado, and retired from there after 20 years. She was a member of the Tulia United Methodist Church and the Avondale United Methodist Church.

She was a member of The Texas Cowbelles, the Terra Cotta Cowbelles, and the American National Cowbelles serving offices at the local, state, and national levels. Alice, or “Pooh, Honey,” as she was called by one of her granddaughters, was a soft-spoken, gentle, and kind woman who never knew a stranger. She was an artist and a designer—even having her own company named Alice Allen with Love. She was a fantastic cook and loved her cokes on ice. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be surely missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (alzfdn.org) or Amarillo Center for Skilled Care (info_amarillo@csnhc.co).
