A. N. Gallop, Jr.
December 10, 1930 - February 12, 2014

A. N. "Coach" Gallop Jr., age 83, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Funeral services will be Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Bell Avenue Baptist Church with Kevin Oakley officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Coach Gallop was born in Gould, Ok. to A.N. Gallop, Sr. and Ada Boyd Gallop. He graduated from Gould High School and married Glenda Atchley in 1949.  A.N. graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in education.  .  He served in the U.S. Army in Korea.  He coached and taught at Horace Mann for over 30 years.  He never missed an opportunity to coach or cheer on his grandkids in sports and in life.   A.N. enjoyed golfing and a good football or basketball game.  He loved his family and opened his heart and home to many others. Over the years, he touched many people's lives. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Gallop; and son, Rickey Don Gallop.

Survivors include a son Larry and wife Kim Gallop of Amarillo, a daughter Janice and husband Mike Dalman of Amarillo. His grandchildren include Rickey Dalman, Anthony Dalman and wife Cynthia, Colby Dalman, Randi Gallop, Aerica Hester and husband Josh, and Ashton Gallop and wife Skylar, and three great grandchildren. Others who were very special to his heart include Kevin Atchley, Terri Falk and husband Dennis, Brandon, Kim, Kylie, Kodie and Boston Hicks, Jennifer, Derek, Luke and Bo Hawkins, Leigh and husband John Abbott, Mallorie (Lyons) and Nichole Standiford.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be to Youth Group, Mescalero Baptist Church, 13330 Mescalero Trail, Amarillo, Texas 79118.
